Twelve Rules for a Happy Marriage
1.  Never both be angry at once.
2.  Never yell at each other unless the house is on fire.
3.  Yield to the wishes of the other as an exercise in self-discipline if you can’t think of a better reason.
4.  If you have a choice between making yourself or your mate look good -- choose to make your mate look good.
5.  If you feel you must criticize, do so lovingly.
6.  Never bring up a mistake of the past.
7.  Neglect the whole world rather than each other.
8.  Never let the day end without saying at least one complimentary thing to your life partner.
9.  Never allow your life’s partner to come home without an affectionate welcome.
10.  Never go to bed mad.
11.  As soon as you realize you’ve made a mistake, talk it out and ask sincerely for forgiveness.
12.  Remember it takes two to make an argument.  The one who is wrong is the one who will be doing most of the talking.

Lord, teach us patience and kindness, even when things aren't going right.  Teach us thoughtfulness.  Help us put our marriage ahead of things pressing in on our lives.  Show us how to build one another up instead of competing.  Let us be willingly inconvenienced for one another's needs and quick to go the second mile, then the third.  Calm our emotions that we may be slow to anger.  Teach us to compliment and praise, to overlook times when the other messes up, to release childish, selfish attitudes.
Help us protect, not neglect; trust, not dishonor.  Grant us strength to presevere in finding our lost love before it is too late.  Even when our love fails, Yours never fails.  Let Your love shine through us.
Fan our glimmer, Lord, and I will begin with three squeezes of my beloved's hand and an "I love you."
(Excerpted from a prayer by Anita Corrine Donihue)

May I Be A Good Wife
Lord, I desire to be the helper for my husband that you want me to be and that he needs.  May I do him good all the days of his life and may he have full confidence in me.  I want to watch over the affairs of our household wisely.  Lord, help us to mutually love and respect one another.  May our home be a place of peace and security where you are honoured and worshipped.  I ask in Jesus' name.  Amen.

Ephesians 5:31-32
That the husband and wife are one body is proved by the Scripture which says, "A man must leave his father and mother when he marries, so that he can be perfectly joined to his wife, and the two shall be one."  I know this is hard to understand, but it is an illustration of the way we are parts of the body of Christ.
Much, much more to come.  Keep checking...!
